Amber Carter
On August 8, 1976, Amber was born in Albuquerque, NM. She was a joyful child. By the age of 12, she had been dancing for nine years, was an "A" student, and had set her goal to attend college and become a psychologist. She graduated from high shool in 1994, and six minths later was diagnosed with with Hodgkin's disease. The remainder of her life is told in the amazingly candid journals that make up a portion of "This is a Good Day to Live."
Bridgett Carter-Janowicz
Younger sister of Amber, Bridgett also born in Albuquerque, came into the world on August 22, 1979. A dancer as well, she was part of a dancing duo, and Amber's best friend. Bridgett's journal entries are ripe with the genuine emotions she felt as a sibling of a sister with a possible terminal illness. Her viewpoint is valuable in its sincerity and gives poignant insight to the world of those children who must take on the burden of being the "healthy child."
